Job Responsibilities:
We are currently looking for a self-driven, passionate and results focused Systems Administrator to be part of our team that will be dedicated to supporting and administering our computing environment as well as our customers.


Responsible for:

  • Install, support and maintain hardware and software infrastructure according to industry best practices, including routers, VPNs, access points, firewalls, physical servers, virtual machines, and security systems
  • Diagnose problems and solve issues, often under time constraints.
  • Assist in the development of guidelines and procedures for administration and security best practices.
  • Create new, and maintain current, documentation on servers, software and network infrastructure.
  • Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions.
  • Monitor network usage, anticipate problems, and suggest solutions
  • Manage projects and maintenance tasks
  • Composing memorandum and reports for management
  • Solid scripting skills

 

Summary of the Job:

Maintain, upgrade and manage software, hardware and networks in-house and for customers.

 

Required Education Experience:

Formal or acquired education/experience in computer hardware, operating systems, and software, networking, communication, and internet. Experience with databases, networks (LAN, WAN) and patch management. Knowledge of system security (e.g. intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery.

 

Necessary Skills:

Computer hardware, networking, communication expertise. Linux and MS Windows OS expertise,  Website administration expertise.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Install and configure software, hardware and networks
  • Manage networks servers and technology tools
  • Set up accounts
  • Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements
  • Troubleshoot issues and outages
  • Ensure security through access controls, backups and firewalls
  • Upgrade systems with new releases and models
  • Provide high level technical support
  • Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
  • Develop expertise to train staff on new technologies
  • Document new or currently undocumented processes.
  • Assist other administrators, coworkers, and customers as needed.
